Linkage

While I’m working on my hex, 15.15, for Tenkar’s Landing, I’m going to link to some other blogs out on the web that you might not read.

Random Mega Dungeon Generator

The first is by gnomestew, which is a very succesful and useful blog mostly focused on resources and tips for DM’s. I really liked this post about a system for generating megadungeons using simple, iterations. I almost want to implement into a program for randomized generation that takes in inputs of faction types and graphically outputs a whole layout, but that's a little beyond my skills and current amount of free time.

DM'sCraft

DM'sCraft forums are a great place to go for crafting advice for D&D things. I have made a lot of my current terrain using the methods put out over there. We're always on the lookout for new techniques, ideas, and converts to the 2.5D method. http://dmscraft.proboards.com/

It's like a hex crawl but for bat eyes and manticore tails instead of hills and forests.

Procedural Metapharmacology

This is probably the coolest name for a system of random generation I have ever heard. It is a sandbox style of potion generation that leans on discovery to fill out magical effects instead of requiring every combination of magical components to be laid out ahead of time. It is an interesting system to put some sandbox into magic and potion systems. http://retiredadventurer.blogspot.com/2013/09/procedural-metapharmacology.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheRetiredAdventurer+%28The+Retired+Adventurer%29

The Long Halls of Luroc

A fantastic idea and background for a megadungeon. The Long Halls are a moving, transdimensional dungeon built by a crazed anarchist architect of great skill. Everything and anything could be found here and the Halls will often make connections to the physical world in the form of buildings appearing from nowhere. It has the air of something that the players should not disturb but will anyway. It reminds me of Howl's Moving Castle, if it was immeasurably huge and had a distaste for Gods and Kings. http://goblinpunch.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-long-halls-of-luroc.html

Teratic Tome

Anyone gotten the Teratic Tome? It looks like a fantastic book of monsters and I want to get it next month (I just bought a lot of books and computer parts, so this is getting pushed to next month). http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/110459/Teratic-Tome
